The place were I grew up is not the nicest or the richest part of Utah. I’m from Glendale. I guess you could say it’s the bad side of Salt Lake City. A lot stuff goes down in my neighborhood. You could hear gunshots all the time, graffiti is all over the place. Some people think it’s not safe down in Glendale. The cops are always doing drug busts. There are a lot of gang members. I would rather be down there than anywhere else. It’s only dangerous to people who don’t know what’s up, people who don’t show respect. That’s the place I call home. I lived there ever since I was a little kid. The majority of the people who live down there are Mexican. Even though there is a lot of crimes, poverty and stress. It’s a good place to live you can learn a lot. You learn what it takes to survive in these stressful times.

I loved reading your post about "the bad side of town." Its very personal and easy to connect with and understand. your descriptions of your town are very coloful and i can picture the streets and people. maybe add a specific experience to show more detail. great job.
I completely agree with you. I'm from Glendale too and I think that it is the best place to grow up in Utah, because you can learn about all of the different people and all of the stress's in life. No matter what goes down there, the kids are almost always safe because everyone agrees that children shouldn't get into the other people's crap. There are a lot of Mexicans out there but there are also other people too. Glendale is my home and it always will be.
Glendale is a really hard neighbor hood. I was only in a proctor home there, but it was a huge step down from West Jordan. I like the way you look at it though, it does help you get through stressful times.
I really like your blog. I deffenetly understand where you're coming from, I use to live in the same type of enviroment if not worse, I think it's important to know what to do if you find your self walking down the wrong street.
That is the tuth that you speek. I am geatfull that i got out of the bad side of town. I know for sure that I would be one of those people that do all that stuff.
